Here’s what the Supreme Court should have decided in Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
“A century ago, the 19th Amendment granted American women equal United States citizenship. As such, they have the same right as men to seek and take the advice of their doctors in private. Roe stands.”
Only 35 words.
Instead, the Court took 147 pages to circuitously, but very carefully, line-by-line, cancel the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It directed (Opinion p. 6) that States, irrespective of the Constitution, have the exclusive power to determine whether women are wards of the state, which will control them, or are full, adult citizens with voting rights.
As you read through these staggering findings, by page 3 of the Syllabus you realize that, in throwing out the 19th, the Court has thrown out the entire constitutional amendment process. It went further, stating clearly that anything not in the original document is out. With the other amendments, the 13th and 15th are gone, which is why, at a Trump rally, GOP congresswoman Mary Miller called the Roe ruling a ”victory for white life.” And thanked Dumb Don for bringing it on. She must have loved his Billy Bush tape….
Even stranger in the Court’s decision to eviscerate the amendment process, which though done on page 3 it denies doing on Syllabus page 7, is that only 24 hours earlier, it fiercely defended the 2nd Amendment which it killed off the very next day.
In fact, the entire Bill of Rights is gone. Look at the impact of losing the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th. And the now forced reversal of every court decision at every level and every piece of legislation federal and state dependent on them over the last 231 years. Stunning.
The Court has reversed the result of the Civil War. It has created an immensely complex new Mason-Dixon line between the new slave states and the free states. The slave states will control the travel of females—they will have to prove that they are not pregnant to cross the Line—and will control females' use of the US Post Office and all other couriers to ensure that females do not have access to abortion pills.
Even more invasive, States now have the right to monitor all traffic from all Americans on Amazon to ensure that its new prescription drug service complies with state control of women. Indeed, states will control all access to the Internet, irrespective of age or gender to ensure that no males are acting for females to procure abortion pills. Smartphones, computers, laptops and whatever follows them in the centuries to come will have to come with special locks preventing females from accessing certain sites or using VPNs to do so.
This is a 21st century Harriet and Dred Scott decision mapped onto China’s Social Credit System for monitoring people. Exactly what the Texas Taliban want. And a very special gift to Xi Jinping and Little Vladdy Putin who want nothing more than the dissolution of the U.S. from within at zero cost to themselves.
The only Americans who can now count on Court protection are straight, white, males. Clarence Thomas, look out.
There will be a new Underground Railroad
