The NRA has admitted its deep-seated addiction to terrorism. The NRA insists that our government’s policy that any terrorist should have access to any gun for use anywhere, anytime on any American, especially school children, remains unchanged. From Columbine to Sandy Hook to Parkland, the NRA is unmoved. Terror, it insists, is part of our American way of life. And, demands the NRA, it must stay that way.
When, within days of the Parkland slaughter of American children, Dumb Don tried to limit terrorist access to guns just a titch, the NRA went ballistic. It forced him to back down. (Not that hard to do as Publius can tell you from first-hand experience.) Terrorism first, the NRA insisted. Children second. Actually, children not at all!
Don is such a great leader! Always wins!! Thank you, Don!!
If Wayne LaPierre had even a pea for a brain, he would long since have changed the name of the NRA to National Rifle Insurance. He would have started by insisting that all gun owners pass rigorous, military-standard training and certification, managed, or course, by the NRI.
And, smartest of all, as Publius showed two years ago in Managing Our National Addiction, LaPierre should have demanded that all gun owners carry market-rate liability insurance provided, of course, by the NRI. And 20 years minimum in the slammer for each uninsured, uncertified gun. LaPierre would instantly have created one of the world’s largest companies. His members, now NRI preferred shareholders, would have been wealthy beyond their dreams. NRA members, transformed into NRI shareholders, would have had their Warren Buffet Moment.
Think about that NRA members. Wayne is keeping you poor. Love that guy!
Here’s the problem. Like Dumb Don (remember Publius on Learning to Count With Don Trump), LaPierre cannot count. He has never been able to think through the simple math on how much money the NRI can make for members.
Liberals like Publius have no problem with counting. We want business and market share. That’s what liberalism is all about. The Tories in the NRA are stuck in centuries-old thinking and want to keep it that way.
How many centuries?
The Second Amendment to our Constitution, passed in 1791, which the NRA invokes every second to keep its members from their rightful access to serious cash, suffered a humiliating collapse nearly 206 years ago. And the NRA didn’t notice … Right…
The Second was followed by the supporting Militia Act of 1792. The two were supposed to win control of Canada. Had they done so, the U.S. today would extend from the North Pole to the Rio Grande.
With a modern economy of that size staring at him, the Kaiser would never have sent the Zimmerman Telegram. America would not have entered the First World War. Germany would not have been defeated and the Euros would have had to reach some accommodation.
Hitler would never have happened. No Holocaust. The Russian Revolution would have had a different outcome. No Stalin Holocaust; he made Hitler look like a piker. And no Mao, who made Stalin look like a neophyte by doing one Holocaust per quarter during the years of the Great Leap Forward. The Japanese would never have contemplated Pearl Harbor. No atom bomb.
Had the Second survived, well over 100 million innocents would not have died, let alone all the military casualties in the century of bloodshed since the Zimmerman Telegram.
Where did this all come apart? As every Canadian school child knows, on October 13, 1812 at Queenston Heights, Ontario.
The U.S. never recovered. Canada is still there. The Second is not.
But, by forcing Americans to live in a centuries-gone fantasy of guns for all to protect our borders during a time two centuries ago when a regular army could have never gotten there in time to meet fast-developing threats, the NRA is fostering terrorism. It is demanding that terrorists can kill as many of us as they want as often as they want, whenever they want. Especially our children.
Then, there is the bizarre idea of countering NRA-approved terrorists by arming teachers and forcing taxpayers to shoulder the burden of training them to military standards, paying them the premiums they will demand and paying for the eye-watering cost of liability insurance to cover accidents.
The time has come for all Americans to insist that the NRA transform itself into the NRI and provide us with serious financial opportunities. The NRI would be the biggest IPO in history.
Wayne, why are you waiting?

The NRA has had two years since Publius showed the NRA how to prevent Parkland and make its members rich in doing so. Instead, it gave us Parkland and an additional mass shooting at a school in Santa Fe Texas.
There is no longer any question: terror is the NRA's sole mission. It holds to mass terror as if it were life itself. The NRA is a cancer deep in our national fabric and it is terminal.

We are now running at one mass shooting a week. The NRA is still sticking to its guns. It loves this stuff.
